SOLAR THERMAL
Solar thermal is a solar water heating system which uses the heat from the sun to warm water passing through the solar thermal panel.
The heated water is stored in a water cylinder/boiler and a backup heater might be needed to get water to the required temperature (need additional space to install new boiler).
There are two types of solar heating panels, which are flat plate and evacuated tubes.
Evacuated tube look like a series of glass tubes instead of flat plates, which are much more efficient.
Over the summer months, the UK weather can provide 100% of your hot water and between 40-60% over the course of the whole year.
Solar thermal panels typically costs around £5000to £7000 to install incl. VAT.
